Stenbacken

We went on a petroglyph tour in the Tanum area with a young archaeologist, who showed us some of the most interesting sites. She also showed us the rock carvings at Stenbacken, which is not among the best known ones. It's situated near the Tegneby site, but there is no sign that show you how to find it. There are many cupmarks and some ships on this rock, but the paint has faded from the carvings.
She brought a broom, to sweep away the leaves, and then she taught us how to transfer the petroglyphs to a big sheet of paper.
