Skara Brae
This is the best preserved Stone Age village in northern Europe. It's situated on the Bay of Skaill on Orkney mainland, and it's one of the Heart of Neolithic Orkney-sites, along with the Stenness-monuments. Read more about Skara Brae here.

It was occupied from roughly 3180 BC to about 2500 BC, but there are two houses on Orkney that are older than that : Knap of Howar on Papa Westray. Bottom left are two photos of items that were found in the village. Stone Age art ?
