Hagby |
Jarl and ... ... the stone in memory of Geirfastr, their father. |
![]() |
This rune stone was used as building material in Hagby old church, but when that church was torn down to be replaced with a new one, the stone disappeared. Almost 200 years later, in 2016, it was found again, when they were doing some diggings next to the church. The carved bird is supposed to be a peacock, and it symbolizes resurrection. Rune-master Fot carved this rune stone, and he also made U 257 and U 448, which also contain peacocks. |
