Halleberg

This is probably the biggest natural hillfort in Europe. There are a lot of elks on this hill, though the one on the right photo ( on the ridge ) is just a sculpture....

It is this steep all around.... There is only one way to get up to the top of the hill - on the road from Vargön, and on one spot, people once put lots of stones to hinder access to the hill.... The hill is about 20 square kilometres wide, and you find it east of Vänersborg in the province of Västergötland in Sweden....
This photo was taken near Ekebacken on Halleberg. A map from my Runes'n'ruins-site.... View over lake Vänern with the peninsula Kålland and the island Kållandsö ( is that the same name as Colonsay, on the west coast of Scotland ? ) stretching itself from the right side of the photo, into the middle of it. You can also see Hindens rev.... map
