Newgrange

Newgrange and the other huge megalith tombs in the Boyne valley are a bit hard to take photos of, 'cause they are so big. To capture the whole mound you have to stand quite far away from it, and then it looks small. If you instead get closer to it, there's just the white wall in front of you. At least that was how I felt 20 years ago, when I last came here. I took much too few photos - that was before I had a digital camera. I have to go back here in a year or so. It's a very interesting site.
I suppose I entered the tomb also, but I have no memory of that, and no photos either. There are carved kerbstones all around the mound. Here's a link to all of them. The bottom right photo shows a ruined passage grave next to Newgrange.
