This runic inscription was carved on the first pillar to the left, once you have entered Torpo stave church. I suppose Asgrim was slightly bored with the sermon, took up his knife and carved his name, and hoped no one would notice.
Maybe Thormod saw what Asgrim was doing ? These runes are carved on the pillar to the right of the previous one. This is what the church look like from the outside.
