Ramsundsberget, Mora

Sigríðr, Alríkr's mother, Ormr's daughter, made this bridge for the soul of Holmgeirr, father of Sigrøðr, her husbandman.
Sö 101
This is a very beautifully made runic inscription. The runes and the pictures are not filled in, but there's no need for that since the carving is deep and precise. The runes tell about bridgebuilding, and the foundations of the bridge are still visible, but not on this photo, since it's in the opposite direction. The remarkable thing about this carving are the pictures, which tell the story of Sigurd the dragonkiller. Read more about it here. For close-ups : point at the picture with the cursor.
