Skara cathedral

The crypt is the oldest part of the cathedral, and it dates from the 11th century. There they found a chalice with the Latin inscription 'Adalvard peccator' - Adalvard the sinner....( a copy of it, is still in the crypt ). Adalvard was the 6th bishop according to the Västgöta lawbook, and the 4th one in Skara. Other things to see are the stained-glass windows made by Bo Beskow, and the works by the 'Skara master'. In the foreground are the ruins of another church.
In the county museum in Skara you can, among other things, look at the Fröslunda bronze shields and a sculptured chair.
