Maes Howe
with that axe which Gaukr Trandill's son owned in the south of the country (= Iceland).
This photo is not very sharp, but it was the people in the foreground that I was aiming at back in 1989, when I took the photo....
When you have walked through the passage into the chamber of Maes Howe - look to the right, and you'll see this inscription right above the entrance to the small side-chamber. The beginning of the sentence is placed a bit further down to the left, and it says : That man who is most rune-skilled west of the sea carved these runes
